At Chesapeake Bay Outward Bound School, we work to change lives through challenge and discovery. Our ability to foster life changing experiences for students across Baltimore, Washington DC, and the greater DMV could not happen without the dedication and support of our Board of Trustees. We are honored to announce our new Board Chair, James Seba, and our new Board Vice-Chair, Trent Zivkovich. They succeed Board Chair Brett Rogers and Board Vice-Chair Ganesha Martin, Esq.
Jim and Trent have both been heavily involved in CBOBS activity ever since joining the Board. Most recently, Trent was featured in our 2024 Board Match Challenge video, and both participated in a teambuilding activity on base camp, pictured below. They consistently demonstrate their dedication and enthusiasm for the services CBOBS provides, and we are thrilled to see them in Board leadership positions.
Jim Seba serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Dwyer Workforce Development and is a Managing Partner and Founder at Vicour Holdings.
Prior to his appointment as Board Chair, Jim has served as a Trustee and head of the Finance Committee. A seasoned finance professional, entrepreneur, and volunteer with wide ranging experience, Jim has spent decades leading mid-sized companies, nonprofit organizations, and healthcare foundations and boards. He has a strong track record of building high-performing teams and solving complex business challenges. A lifetime outdoor enthusiast, Jim has been a Chesapeake Bay Outward Bound Trustee since 2020, and is the father of a CBOBS alumnus.
Jim expressed enthusiasm for his new role and our mission: “CBOBS is an impactful organization with a substantial record of enhancing the lives of students and adults throughout the Chesapeake region. The staff and volunteers that have driven this organization over its history are truly inspiring. Their stewardship has created a bright future for our organization! I am very grateful for the opportunity to partner with the entire CBOBS community in pursuit of fulfilling our mission and growing our impact in the coming years.”
Trent Zivkovich is a Baltimore-based attorney who focuses his national practice on environmental, corporate, and real estate law. He provides comprehensive environmental law services to clients in brownfields redevelopment, transactional, general land development, regulatory compliance and litigation matters. He guides business and corporate clients through significant acquisition and financing matters and provides advice in contracting, succession planning and restructuring efforts, serving as outside general counsel to several large companies and a significant family office. He is also active in the real estate field, especially the purchase, divestment and redevelopment of brownfields sites and other environmentally sensitive properties. Trent’s background is in the natural sciences, he is a former licensed professional geologist, and he previously worked both as an environmental consultant and as a commercial builder.
Trent has been a Chesapeake Bay Outward Bound Board Member for three years, but he’s served as a member of the Board’s Program & Safety Committee since 2018. He’s also been involved with CBOBS in many other ways, including as the parent of an Alumni and as an Alumni himself. He completed a peer leadership course in his teenage years, and worked as a Logistician and Assistant Watch Officer/Sailing Instructor when the school sailed Pulling Boats on the Chesapeake Bay.
