When you’re out on course, it’s not like you can just go home at night and throw your clothes in the dryer or grab a clean set. In the backcountry you’ve got what you got and you have to make it work. I think that’s what makes some people fall in love with spending time outside: When convenience is removed, you have to get inventive and resilient.
Each of our three new board members share a spirit for adventure. Our team is grateful to have them join us on the path to our future as an organization.
The Wetherbee Scholarship is a yearly gift given by the Wetherbee family to Outward Bound. It is in honor of 1st Marine Alexander Wetherbee who was killed in Iraq in 2004. He was an outdoorsman, so the family thought this scholarship was a beautiful way to honor his memory. We agree.
